Why Kairos?

We named this place Kairos because we believe people will encounter God as they come and fellowship with one another.

Kairos is a special and significant time — a perfect, opportune and favourable "God-moment" or season where divine purpose and human experience intersect.

In ancient Greek, kairos (καιρός) signifies the "right, critical, or opportune moment," often visualized through imagery of archery and weaving. It represents the precise, fleeting instant—the "aperture" or "tunnel"—through which an arrow must pass to strike a target, or the moment a weaver passes the shuttle through the warp.

Two verses inspire our cause:

Galatians 6:10: "Therefore, as we have opportunity (kairos), let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers" (NIV). This verse highlights that being together is a "window of opportunity" to serve fellow Christians.

Mark 1:15: "The time (kairos) is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel" (ESV). This was the inaugural proclamation for believers to gather around the new reality of Jesus.
